Strategic Objectives
SDA Strategic objectives:
- Support of national and local civil society organizations for strengthened organizational capacity, build up in networks to share information and participate in policies affecting the poor and socially excluded groups.
- Influence policy environment for mainstreaming gender equality and environmentally sensitive policies and practice at all levels.
- Support of community initiatives of sustainable livelihood development program models and dissemination for wider replication.
Develop research, information and development education capacity that respect diversity, just, peace and promotion of responsive governance.
The immediate objectives were reiterated in the plan of action as follows:
§ Promoting economic, social and cultural development in order to increase economic self-reliance and promote an indigenous self-sustained development
§ Promote cooperation in order to raise standard of living and maintain and enhance economic stability.
§ Fostering women leadership roles through several formal and informal capacity building actions.
§ Encouraging alliances and networking in relation to SDA mission and visions.
§ Promoting access to safe drinking water as basic/ fundamental rights.
SDA Actions:
Hygienic water supply and sanitation in river Nile state
Organizational empowerment of women groups in all SDA intervention areas
Economic enhancing saving and credit to facilitate income generation.
§ Encouraging alliances and networking in relation to SDA at local, national and international levels.
§ Improve the capacity of local communities to manage and control their own development process.
